As part of the regeneration of South Kilburn, Brent Council wants to redevelop the Carlton and Granville Centres site to provide much-needed community and education spaces, space for enterprise (studios and offices), and new homes.

Phase 1 – refurbishment of the Granville building, lead by RCKa Architects, to provide an interim Enterprise Hub and community space - opened in May 2018.

This project, Phase 2, focuses on the site’s long-term future. The main aim is to secure sustainable community facilities for South Kilburn, plus training and employment opportunities for local people, by improving existing spaces, and creating excellent new ones. These include a permanent Enterprise Hub, offices for South Kilburn Trust, and accommodation for groups and services currently based on the site: the Nursery School, the Barnardo’s operated Children’s Centre, Granville Community Kitchen and the Otherwise Club.

Required to make the most efficient use of public land and to address an ongoing housing shortage, the council also wants to provide new homes on the site.
